چکیده

Abstract Precipitation (PPT) is the primary climatic determinant of plant growth and aboveground net productivity (ANPP) for many world’s major terrestrial ecosystems. Thus, relationships between PPT can provide insight into how changes in climate may alter ecosystem functions globally. Spatial PPT–ANPP grasslands are found remarkably similar around world, but whether they change during periods extended anomalies remain unknown. Here, we quantified regional-scale PPT-ANPP vary an wet a dry period by taking advantage 35-year record NDVI (as surrogate ANPP) at 1700 sites temperate northern China. We sharp decrease strength spatial relationship 11-year below average PPT. attributed collapse this to asynchrony responses different grassland types decadal increased aridity. Our results challenge robustness regional PPT–productivity if aridity globally change.

Are Scale-Free Networks Functionally Robust?

This paper reexamines the claim that biological networks are robust due to their scale-free (SF) architecture, by presenting a basic and simple way to assess the role that this architecture plays in determining network robustness. Studying the error tolerance of the yeast protein-protein interaction network [7] to random node removal using the pertaining knockout data we show that it is only ve...

Are the Foundations of Regional Scientific Advantage Fragile or Robust?

We investigate in this paper the impact of the August 2001 U.S. administration stem cell research policy on the geography of scientific advantage. The 2001 policy constitutes an interesting policy experiment, as its impact on the field was profound and its particular form was unanticipated in advance. The policy enabled the first U.S. federal funding for human embryonic stem cell (hESC) researc...

Climate Change Impact on Precipitation Extreme Events in Uncertainty Situation; Passing from Global Scale to Regional Scale

Global warming and then climate change are important topics studied by researchers throughout the world in the recent decades. In these studies, climatic parameters changes are investigated. Considering large-scaled output of AOGCMs and low precision in computational cells, uncertainty analysis is one of the principles in doing hydrological studies. For this reason, it is tried that investigati...

Multi-scale Robust Modelling of Landslide Susceptibility: Regional Rapid Assessment and Catchment Robust Fuzzy Ensemble

Landslide susceptibility assessment is a fundamental component of effective landslide prevention. One of the main challenges in landslides forecasting is the assessment of spatial distribution of landslide susceptibility. Despite the many different approaches, landslide susceptibility assessment still remains a challenge. A semi-quantitative method is proposed combining heuristic, deterministic...
